Behold the pitcher and its cup
Each made for receiving and forgiving
In that order
Each could receive anywhere
Both can give everywhere
Yet here they are
As stars mandated
Symmetry in tandem
Not separate but equal
But equal and separate
Awaiting their purpose
Shared
Breathless forever

Drops fall
Sighing
Rain and its bearers filling to fullness
The drought has ended
Consummate communion may now begin

Behold the beholden pitcher
Poring pours
Into its beloved cup
Emptying near to empty never vacated
“For This was I created.”

Drops fall
Sighing
Rain and its bearers filling to fullness
The drought has ended
Consummate communion may now begin

Behold the beholden cup
Dreaming drinks
From its beloved pitcher
Swelling near to full never sated
“For this was I created.”

Drops fall
Singing
Rain and its servants drench and drink to wetness
The drought has ended
Consummate communion begins

Behold the beheld cup
Spilling spells
Into its beheld pitcher
Measuring by each measure never abated
“For this, too, were we created.”
